I would say the best experience, I had. My relation with this hospital begun 3 years ago when I had Laser Treatment for Vision Correction. Till today, I never faced any issue with my Vision. The Doctor is recommended by a very Close friend of mine. And trust me he is above my expectations.
Now, I came for my Mother's Cataract Operation for both the eyes. And as usual we had a very smooth experience whether it is related to Operation or Financial. Seems like this hospital has done mastery in serving it's patients. Highly recommended to everyone.

Dr. Anand Deshpande is a very highly skilled, professional and approachable eye surgeon. He answered all of our queries in a detailed manner about my father's cataract procedure. The surgery for both of his eyes was seamless and went successfully. We could also watch the entire surgery procedure on the television outside of the OT which was reassuring.
The hospital facility is state of the art and all of the support staff(front desk, insurance desk and lab assistants) is pro-active and ready to help in answering smallest of the doubts.

I recently had my cataract surgeries done at Deshpande's Eye hospital and this is the review of my experience.
I went to this hospital for the first time due to very strong recommendation from my earlier opthalmologist who had moved out of Pune. After preliminary investigations, Dr. Deshpande explained to me the various options in details with technologies involved, cost estimates, etc. Finally we zeroed in on 'CLARION MONOFOCAL LENS' a little on the expensive side but the advantages outweighed the cost. This is a preloaded lens in about 6 inches long cylindrical device which is gas filled (probably inert gas) with lens insertion mechanism embedded. A small manually operated lever triggers the mechanism which releases the gas and pushes the lens straight in the eye completely eliminating any physical touch to the lens. It also provides UV protection (with a filter, etc). As explained to me by Dr Deshpande, this is the latest in the world.
The second aspect of the surgery was the laser machine which was to be used. Dr Deshpande's hospital has the most advanced laser machine (The highest version of the FECO brand) which has the laser beam diameter of less than two microns. (For comparison, human hair is approximately 80 microns thick). This meant that the surgery would be performed with immense precision and accuracy.
The last aspect was the skill involved. I had no doubts knowing the experience and responsibilities held by Dr. Deshpande, and I was right. Everything went through as precisely and accurately as it could be. Great work done. I had a slight discomfort for the first day or two immediately after the surgery with a little reddish ness in the eye but it vanished quickly. The hospital maintained complete transparency to the extent that my wife was able to see the operation live on the TV monitor in the adjacent room. Not only this but I was given the device (containing lens, gas, pushing mechanism, etc) which had all the identification codes mentioned on it. (The same were mentioned in the discharge summary.)
Finally, a few words about the staff. The entire workforce operated like a well oiled machine with absolute professionalism and is very well trained. Main administrator Smita, front desk receptionist Pallavi, counsellor Trupti were the ones who made matters very smooth and simple. Special thanks are due to Komal, the TPA coordinator who handled my insurance claim with utmost care and got it through effortlessly.
Finally, I have already suggested this hospital to some of my friends and close relatives.
